The William James Foundation (WJF) engages their world-wide mentor network to support entrepreneurs who are building companies to improve the world. All of their projects exist to educate and support entrepreneurs who are starting or expanding for-profit businesses that have built social and/or environmental values into how they make money.
They do this through them Sustainable Business Plan Competition program, which provides business plan feedback, mentorship, and investment pipeline to our entrepreneurs and investors.
Business must be a for-profit start-up with a defined social and/or environmental goal. Primary "prize" is average of 20 pages of feedback per plan per round. Also, cash and in-kind prizes together worth over $100,000.
If you are interested in the program, you must apply by 15 November, 2013.
-- You can apply to this competition if you:
- Run or are founding a for-profit company (Both pre- and post-revenue companies may apply, as well as for-profits that are owned by not-for-profits).
- Employ (or plan to employ) at least one full-time person at a living wage.
- Have a measurable social, environmental, or cultural goal built into how you make money.
- Are open to coaching and mentoring.
- Can write your business documents in English.
