EASME selects 26 new sustainable blue economy projects
European Commission to invest €19.1 million in maritime economy

26 new sustainable blue economy projects have been selected for funding by the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) under the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF). The projects are expected to begin in late 2019.
These projects are the results of a selection made under a call for proposals launched to accelerate the sustainable development of the blue economy across the EU and support its maritime policy goals.
The total budget of €19.1 million is allocated to selected projects in the fields of:
• innovative laboratories addressing selected maritime and marine challenges and opportunities ("blue labs");
• innovative approaches to cooperation between industry, education and public authorities to boost entrepreneurial skills, tailored curricula and training programmes ("blue careers");
• testing/deployment/ scaling-up of innovative technologies for new industrial or service applications and solutions for the blue economy (grants for blue economy).
